They are made in a wide-range of colours and designs, which means that no matter what the design of your bathroom, you will almost certainly be able to find the acrylic bathtub in the colour that matches your décor. They can be easily fitted with accessories such as a whirlpool. As well as being available in a full range of colors an acrylic bathtub can be purchased in almost any style you care to mention - anything from a long low traditional oblong bathtub to a modern triangular design. In the early 1980’s Egyptian entrepreneur, Mr. Mohamed M. Abou el Enein, had a vision to start producing quality tiles in Egypt. He took a big risk by opening, in the middle of the desert, the most modern ceramic tile factory in the world, with single-fire technology. In 1982 he started arranging staff, gathering technological know-how, organizing a team of Egyptian youth, training and laying the foundation for electrical, transport and water infrastructure. In 1983 the first factory, Ceramica Cleopatra, was opened in 10th of Ramadan City. The factory started out with 3500 m2 a day, four lines and 300 members of staff. After that production doubled every three months. In 1990, Egyptian President Mubarak made his first visit tCeramica Cleopatra. During this same time, Ceramica Cleopatra expanded into markets outside of Egypt: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Libya and Lebanon. In 1992, Group Ceramica Cleopatra opened a factory for the production of sanitary ware and acrylic bath tubs. In 1993, Mr. Abou el Enein opened Ceramica Eldorado, the first factory for porcelain and gres tiles in the Middle East. This factory meant that Group Ceramica Cleopatra no longer needed to import tiles to satisfy its local and international markets. In 1993, Chinese President Jiang Zemin made an official tour of the factory.

By this point the market was convinced by the high quality of Egyptian tiles, which were also 50% less than the cost of Italian tiles. .In 1995, Ceramica Cleopatra successfully entered the Japanese market, where the demands for standards of quality are extremely high. In 1995 Group Ceramica Cleopatra was awarded the ISO 9001 certificate .In 1997, Group Ceramica Cleopatra won the ‘Unido Innovative Enterprise Award’ .In 1998, Group Ceramica Cleopatra was awarded the rights to develop an Industrial Park in the Suez Special Economic Zone. Also in this year, Group Ceramica Cleopatra won the ‘Inpex Award of Excellence’ and the ISO 14001. Group Ceramica Cleopatra opened its second factory, Ceramica Eldorado. In 1999, new kilns were added to the factory Cleopatra Eldorado in Suez to boost production. In 2000, Cleopatra Mineral Resources (CMR) was started – a mining company which extracted homogenous raw materials for tile production. In 2001 the third factory, Ceramica Fancy, was opened. At this factory wall, floor, porcelain tiles and decorated and plain sanitary were produced.

In 2008, Galleria Cleopatra was opened. This is Group Ceramica Cleopatra’s fourth factory and the most technologically advanced factory of its kind in the world. By 2008, Group Ceramica Cleopatra has 12 thousand members of staff, produces 90 million m2 of tiling annually and around 1 million pieces of sanitary ware annually and it exports to more than 100 countries globally. The best raw materials and the most advanced technology available have made our broad range of sanitary ware products internationally sought-after. Toilets, Basins and Bidet’s Our toilet bowls and tanks are made from a special clay called vitreous china. Vitreous china is a mix of several kinds of clay, called ball clay and china clay, silica, and a fluxing agent. Clays are hardened by first drying in air, then being fired (baked) in a very hot oven called a kiln. Usually a shiny, waterproof coating called a glaze is applied only after a first firing, and the clay is fired a second time. Vitreous china is an exception, in that clay and glaze can be fired together. The whole clay body vitrifies, or turns glassy, so the toilet is actually waterproof and stainproof through its entire thickness.

At Ceramica Cleopatra quality checks are taken at several points in the manufacturing of toilets, basins and bidets. The clay is sieved and purified before it is pumped into the factory's tanks. Workers doing the manual finishing of the castings check the pieces for cracks or deformities. After firing, each toilet is tested individually. Random sample checks are not a good enough gauge of quality: each piece must be inspected for cracks. For decorated sanitary ware our team of decorators hand-paint each design, transforming a standard household appliance into an object of art.
